With the waste vegetable oil clean and dry, we test its acidity to determine how much catalyst is required to make biodiesel. The catalyst is measured out and mixed with methanol, causing a reaction that forms sodium hydroxide. The sodium hydroxide is then mixed in the processing tank with the waste vegetable oil. The resulting reaction produces biodiesel.
